Physical health benefits of activity include increased stamina and energy, a strengthened heart, lower blood pressure, and improved digestion and sleep. In addition, activity improves mood, releases stress, and increases mental alertness.
Transferring and Positioning
Moving and placing clients in a correct posture position promotes health and safety and proper functioning of the body's many systems. Proper transferring and positioning from or into beds and chairs eliminates pressure areas on the skin, helps to strengthen muscles, and encourages proper breathing, digestion, and elimination.
Toileting and Incontinence Care
Compassionate and sensitive care for seniors and other adults can help them maintain dignity and self-esteem as they receive help with daily activities. Through this caring approach we help to lessen the embarrassment associated with the loss of independence related to incontinence and need for toileting assistance.
