Just because someone has age-related difficulties eating or they’re on a restricted diet does not mean their food has to be boring. There are many tasty meal options for seniors that also provide good nutrition. The following breakfast meals are not only healthy, but they’re also filling, delicious, and super easy to make.

Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Ingredients:

  • 1   6oz apple chobani greek yogurt
  • ½ cup oats ½ cup vanilla soy or almond milk
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • Optional (raisins, almonds or fresh fruit- add in the morning)

Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a Tupperware or air tight container. Mix well, cover and let stand in refrigerator overnight. Open in the morning and enjoy! Serving size :1

Egg and Steamed Kale Breakfast Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 english muffin
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Steamed kale (season with garlic, sea salt and pepper to taste)

Instructions: Toast muffin. Place egg whites in microwave safe bowl and cook for 1 minute. Add ingredients to toasted muffin and enjoy! Serving size: 1
